Sunny Sarasota South is Something Special

A campground well worth a Shout Out lies on the west coast of central Florida, in south Sarasota. A boutique-size, 55 and over RV Park, Sarasota Sunny South is nestled amid residential neighborhoods, just a block from major thoroughfares and businesses, and 4 miles from the beach.

It is unique for a variety of reasons. First, there’s cool amenities like a poolside tiki bar with outdoor lounge area, swimming pool with loungers and a shady cabana, a gym, clubhouse, shower and laundry facilities, and a huge fenced-in dog park with a covered gazebo.

Here’s where it really gets good: In prime season, December to March, Sarasota Sunny South’s management team and former chef/restaurant owners John and Mary Anna (along with a host of volunteers), provide guests with a complimentary dinner every Wednesday and breakfast on Saturdays. Judging from the quality of delicious food using fresh ingredients and the abundant choice of offerings – This buffet has got to be the best meal in town! And it’s free when you stay at Sarasota Sunny South. Never in my many years of RVing have I ever come across an RV Park like this. What a treat!

And everyone is so darn happy! I believe many Sarasota Sunny South guests have that “Isn’t-This-A-Great-Day attitude” common among grateful (otherwise snowbound) snowbirds. Having come from New England a long time ago, I can spot them – they sauntering along with a silly grin on their face like they’re getting away with something really, really big. And they are! They’re warm. And they’re happy… at Sarasota Sunny South.
